Fishing order for districts MsO SRZ Ružomberok
valid from 1.1. 2023 to 31.12. 2025

I. Introductory provisions

The municipal organization SRZ in Ružomberok, to ensure the proper exercise of fishing rights in its fishing grounds, based on Act no. 216/2018 Coll. on fishing and implementing decree of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic no. 381/2018 Coll. as well as within the union regulations, issues this fishing regulation.
The fishing regulations are valid for holders of local and guest fishing permits issued by the MsO SRZ Ružomberok and permits issued by the Slovak Fisherman Council (union and special permits) and also permits issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic (special permit according to § 9 of the Decree), to the extent of the validity of these permits. The fishing permit, which does not apply to the areas of the MsO SRZ Ružomberok, is invalid and it is not possible to fish based on it in the areas of the MsO SRZ Ružomberok.
Fishing regulations are issued for the period from 1.1. 2023 until 31.12. 2025.

II. General principles of fishing law enforcement

In all areas of MSO SRZ Ružomberok, the angler is obliged to comply with the provisions of the Fisheries Act no. 216/2018 Coll. and on amendments to Act No. 455/1991 Coll. on trade and business and Decree no. 381/2018 Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, as well as internal union regulations.
When fishing, angler is obliged to have a valid fishing license and a corresponding valid fishing permit with him. Slovak Fishing Union (SRZ) members are also required to carry an SRZ member card. In addition, the angler is obliged to carry the measuring device necessary to measure the caught fish, a hook supplier, a landing gear, or, when fishing predatory fish, fishing pliers. For weight volume, a scale can be used or a table can be recalculated, which is part of the catch record (§ 14, paragraph 20 of the Decree).
Each holder of a fishing permit shall submit his/her catch record by January 15 of the following year, after its expiration, to the user of the fishing area that issued it; he will submit the record even if he did not catch fish during the period to which the permit applies. We would like to warn anglers that failure to comply with this deadline will be grounds for not issuing a fishing permit in the following year (§ 14, paragraph 21 of the Decree).
Fishing is prohibited in places marked as spawning grounds or wintering grounds. Fishing is prohibited on the river Váh Nr.18c in the Jamborov prah wintering area from 1.11 till 31.12.
Caught fish that the angler is not entitled to appropriate must be released back into the water with due care as soon as possible. Failure to comply with this obligation will qualify as a violation of the relevant provisions of the Act (§9, §13, §14) and provisions of the Decree (§10, §12, §13, §14). The angler is obliged to release the caught fish back into the water as soon as possible and it is forbidden to take them outside the bank of the watercourse for the purpose of further handling with them!
The angler must not pollute the fishing spot and its surroundings, and when cleaning the fish, he must not throw these remains into the water or leave them in the fishing spot (§14, paragraph 1).

III. Special provisions

The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic approved the increase of the minimum hunting rates, according to §12 par. 5 Decrees, for selected species of fish in areas of MSO SRZ Ružomberok as follows:The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic approved the increase of the minimum hunting rates, according to §12 par. 5 Decrees, for selected species of fish in areas of MSO SRZ Ružomberok as follows:

Please note: the minimum hunting rates for other species remain in force in accordance with § 12 of the Decree

Increased minimum fishing rates apply to the fishing grounds of the MsO SRZ Ružomberok in the period from 1.1. 2023 until 31.12. 2025. Every angler is obligated to follow this provision. Failure to comply with it will qualify as a violation of the Criminal Code or a violation of the Disciplinary Code.
Fishing in areas with the Catch and Release mode: Weight no. 18c, Weight no. 19b and Čutkovo is governed by § 9 of the Act. In the mentioned fishing areas, it is forbidden to appropriate the caught fish, and when fishing in the mentioned areas, the angler is obliged to use a hook without a barb (§ 9, paragraph 3 of the Act). Fishing in trout waters is governed by §16 of the Fisheries Act Fishing on grayling waters is governed by §17 of the Fisheries.
Act The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic in accordance with § 14 par. 3 of the Decree approved a temporary reduction of the appropriation of grayling catches to one appropriated piece during one day in fishing grounds no. 3-3220-4-1 Revúca, no. 3-4680- 6-1 Weight No. 18a, No. 3-4700-4-1 Weight No. 19a for the period 2023 to 2025.

IV. General provisions

In order to respect the private property of Mondi SCP, a.s. In Ružomberok, the movement of fishermen along the shore line of the river Váh in connection with the company is possible only in the zone of max. 3 m from the shore line. We ask anglers not to enter the production area of Mondi SCP, a.s. and to respect any instructions of the guard service. At VN Liptovský Sliačik (3-5080-1-1), which is another body of water, year-round fishing is permitted (§13, paragraph 5 of the Act) with species protection of fish. 

V. Measures to save fish in emergency situations

In case of suspicion of an extraordinary deterioration of water quality, everyone is obliged to inform the Slovak police on the emergency line 158, the fishery guard and the fisheries manager of the Ministry of Fisheries as soon as possible. This also applies to extremely low water conditions or other threatening conditions or during fish spawning.

VI. Final provision

The fishing regulations are valid for the period from 1.1. 2023 until 31.12. 2025. At the same time, the fishing regulations of the SRZ Ružomberok, which were valid from 1.1. 2020 until 31.12. 2022.
